Michael A. Josephson
Michael A. Josephson has earned a reputation for being a hard-working, creative, hands-on, and tenacious litigator. Michael Josephson has been lead counsel in over 700 class, collective and individual cases involving individuals who were cheated out of their unpaid overtime wages. He has represented tens of thousands of workers in almost every major industry, including national food processors, retailers, transportation, government agencies, call centers, chemical plants, oil and gas operators, staffing, technical companies, stadium service providers, and litigation service companies. These lawsuits have not only recovered back wages for his clients, but also forced innumerable companies to change their pay practices to comply with state and federal law.
In addition to his substantial wage and hour practice, Michael Josephson represents individuals in oilfield personal injuries, maritime injuries, 18-wheeler accidents, defective products, dangerous drugs, and oilfield contamination.He has also been involved in many class and mass tort campaigns against numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Michael attended the University of Houston where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Michael then attended South Texas College of Law where he graduated in 2000 with his J.D. After law school, Michael joined Strong Pipkin Bissell & Ledyhard, LLP where he focused his work on litigation. In 2002, Michael joined Edwards & George LLP as an associate.
In 2003, Michael joined Fibich Leebron Copeland Briggs & Josephson, one of the most preeminent plaintiffs firms in the country. Michael focused his efforts on wage and hour violations. Michael has litigated cases on behalf of workers in wage and hour class actions and collective actions against some of the most respected employment litigation firms in the United States.
Michael has been recognized by the legal community for his continued success. He has been repeatedly included in the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ (2006, 2008-2013) and the Super Lawyers® lists (2013-2014). He has served on the board of directors for both the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association.
In March 2017, Michael joined with friend and fellow attorney, Andrew Dunlap, to form Josephson Dunlap. With their combined experience, Josephson Dunlap is able to provide aggressive and thorough representation to clients.
In addition to being licensed to practice law in Texas and Pennsylvania, Michael has been admitted pro hac vice in courts throughout Alabama, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Michael is also admitted to practice all federal courts in Texas, the U.S. District Court Western District of Oklahoma, theU.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Michael’s clients have come to know him as a compassionate advocate who goes the extra mile for each and every client. He personally handles case work in all stages of the litigation, from drafting of the initial complaint to discovery and motion matters, trial, and appeal, if necessary. His “hands-on” approach has produced very favorable results in difficult and complex cases.
