Employment Lawsuit:

Tamas v. Family Video

(Feb 2011) - Fibich Hampton lawyers are representing a group of Family Video employees in a class action alleging misclassification of Managers in Training and Store Managers as exempt to withhold overtime pay.

According to the plaintiffs, Family Video wrongly withheld overtime pay by classifying the employees as exempt even though their actual job duties did not meet the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act or Illinois Minimum Wage Law to allow unpaid overtime.

The class action was filed in the Northern District of Illinois by the Fibich Hampton firm in February 2011 and includes Family Video Manages in Training and Store Managers nationwide who currently work at Family Video or who worked at Family Video within the last three years.
