Julie Lomax is an experienced litigator who focuses her practice on helping workers receive their rightful compensation. As a member of the Josephson Dunlap team, Julie handles cases involving wage and hour violations on an individual and class action basis in order to recover unpaid wages and benefits for employees whose employers have failed to pay them in accordance with state and federal law.
Julie attended the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology before heading to the University of Houston Law Center. Upon graduating from law school, Julie joined Brown Sims, PC where she managed administrative law and insurance defense cases including Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA), general maritime claims, contract disputes, premises liability issues, vessel seizure and release, and various negligence causes of action. In this role, Julie also drafted briefs and replies for both the First and Fourteenth Courts of Appeals.
In 2010, Julie joined White, Mackillop & Gallant, PC where she focused her practice on appellate briefs in Texas state and federal courts. She was active in all areas of litigation, including the coordinating experts, conducting depositions, and taking cases to trial. Prior to joining Josephson Dunlap, Julie worked as an attorney with Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, LLP, focusing on appellate cases in federal circuit courts and state courts regarding labor and employment disputes. She was a member of the firm’s Admiralty, Maritime & Energy Litigation Practice, and also handled cases including commercial litigation, business torts, insurance coverage, products liability, non-maritime personal injury, and energy law.
Julie has engaged in several appellate matters before the Texas Courts of Appeal, the Texas Supreme Court, and the Department of Labor’s Benefits Review Board. Her depth of experience is invaluable to clients as she helps the entire Josephson Dunlap team obtain fair pay for deserving workers. Julie is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
