Sara Morton is an experienced and dedicated attorney who helps clients receive the wages they are rightly owed by their employers. Sara’s broad background and leadership experience are invaluable to her clients, making her a great asset to the Josephson Dunlap team.
Sara attended Texas A&M University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology before attending law school at the South Texas College of Law as a Dean’s Merit Scholar and a F. Jane Yount Scholar.
During law school, Sara participated in the South Texas College of Law Foreign Studies program where she studied at the University of Malta and Charles University in Prague. Sara was awarded Best Brief in the Leroy Jeffers Memorial Moot Court Competition and participated in the South Texas College of Law Trial Advocacy Competition and Mock Trial Competition.
Sara was selected to serve as a Judicial Clerks for the Honorable Justice Tim Taft in the First Court of Appeals. In this role, Sara drafted pre-submission memoranda for Justice Taft, researched legal issues for chambers and briefing attorneys, edited and completed substantive citation checks, and attended oral arguments. During law school, Sara also worked as a law clerk handling insurance litigation matters.
After law school, Sara worked for prestigious, nationally known personal injury law firms maximizing case values for personal injury clients, including working for the Lanier Law Firm, P.C. where she managed a 150 case multistate trial docket, supervised junior attorneys and staff, prepared and negotiated settlement agreements totaling over $1 million, took over 100 plaintiff trial depositions, and presented hundreds of fact witnesses at depositions. She has managed trial dockets in both state and federal courts in Texas, Illinois, Florida, Rhode Island, California, New Jersey, and New York, representing plaintiffs in the areas of personal injury, products liability, toxic torts, wrongful death, and asbestos litigation.
Sara was selected as a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star for Personal Injury in 2014 and 2018. She is member of the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association.
