Representative Matters

• Represent workers in complex wage and hour class and collective actions across the country in almost every major industry, including against some of the largest oil and gas companies, inspection companies, chemical plants, staffing agencies, technical companies, and healthcare companies and hospitals.
• Successfully briefed, argued, and obtained FLSA conditional certification and Rule 23 class certification in numerous cases alleging violations of the FLSA and analogous state wage and hour laws.
• Successfully negotiated the settlement of numerous cases, including dozens of multi-million-dollar settlements, in cases alleging violations of the FLSA and analogous state wage and hour laws.
• Successfully briefed and obtained a favorable opinion from the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, which held the Supreme Court's holding in Bristol-Meyers Squibb did not deprive the federal district court of personal jurisdiction over out-of-state opt-in plaintiffs in FLSA collective action. Waters v. Day & Zimmerman NPS, Inc., 23 F.4th 84 (1st Cir. 2022), cert. denied, 142 S. Ct. 2777 (2022).
• Former Special Assistant State’s Attorney in the Special Victims’ Division of Montgomery County, Maryland’s State’s Attorney’s Office, where I represented the State of Maryland in hundreds of domestic violence prosecutions, second chaired a felony sex offense prosecution, and assisted with numerous felony murder and gang-related prosecutions.
• Former Law Clerk for the Honorable Harry C. Storm in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland.
