Kathryn McDougal


Kathryn McDougal focuses her efforts on helping employees who have wage and hour disputes. She has handled cases for individual workers and in class actions litigation to help employees recover unpaid wages.

Kathryn attended Texas A&M University in College Station where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Kathryn returned to Houston, where she attended law school at the South Texas College of Law on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. During her time as a law student, Kathryn participated in the school’s mock trial team where she was a finalist in the Garland Walker Mock Trial Competition. Kathryn served as the president of the Democratic Students Association and received CALI Awards for both Professional Responsibility and Texas Criminal Procedure.

Before graduating Cum Laude with her Juris Doctorate, Kathryn volunteered as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas where she gained valuable federal law experience as well as experience performing legal research, writing briefs, and drafting motions.

Kathryn worked as a summer associate for Wills Law Firm, PLLC where she began her work on employment law through research, brief writing, and discovery.

After graduating with her law degree and as a Certified Mediator, Kathryn joined Fibich Leebron Copeland Briggs & Josephson where she met Michael Jospehson and Andrew Dunlap. Working with Michael and Andrew on employment cases, Kathryn decided to devote her legal career to fighting for the rightful wages of workers, and joined Josephson Dunlap in March 2017.

Kathryn is a member of the Labor and Employment section of the Houston Bar Association, the Houston Young Lawyers Association, and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
